Kathy Braucher
The Cornerstone Group at SERHANT Colorado
Kathy Braucher grew up in a large blended family with four brothers and no sisters, in North Canton, Ohio, a community where generations of families put down roots and took pride in carrying on family legacies. She left for the Sunshine State and studied business at the University of South Florida, then returned home after reconnecting with a high school friend, Marc Braucher, now her husband of 25 years. Marc had also returned to North Canton to join his father's custom home building business, Alpha Construction, and Kathy left a career in financial recruiting to get her real estate license and work alongside them.
What followed was the most difficult stretch of her life. She and Marc spent years trying to start a family before deciding to adopt. She threw herself into real estate to keep her mind occupied while they waited. Then one afternoon, mid-listing appointment, a phone call came that would change her life forever: she and Marc were given the greatest gift of their lives, a newborn baby girl born in a small Ohio town. It was a whirlwind, and they went from a couple to a family almost overnight. There wasn't a diaper in the house, but within a couple of days their families and community filled their home with everything a newborn would ever need. Three years later, another incredible blessing came into their lives: a baby boy whose birth mother chose Kathy and Marc to be his parents. Their family was complete.
That season changed Kathy permanently. It taught her to stay calm when things fall apart without warning, to trust that staying the course usually gets you the ultimate result, and to lead with gratitude even when it's hard to find. She carries all of that into every transaction. She doesn't panic when a deal hits a snag, and she doesn't tell clients what they want to hear just to keep things moving. She lays the groundwork first, walks people through exactly what to expect, brings research and real life examples to back it up, and takes the time to listen and encourage her clients to ask questions, leading them through the process thoroughly and completely.
Kathy has been licensed for roughly 20 years, including 13 in Colorado, and has sold through the 2008 crash, the red-hot market of 2020 to 2022, and now a correction from the highs of recent years, making her a well-rounded broker with the ability to adapt to whatever the next season brings. She's on the preferred agent list for several major relocation companies. Her years around Alpha Construction gave her a real eye for design and architecture that she still brings to every transaction, and since building her business in Colorado she has also acquired an entire village of trusted local contractors, the kind of network that solves problems fast, whether it's a plumbing emergency, a repair that surfaces during inspection, or getting a home staged and market ready.
She's based in Highlands Ranch, where she's lived for 16 years, and works throughout Douglas, Arapahoe, Jefferson, Elbert, Adams, and Denver counties, with referral business that has taken her as far west as Summit County and the high country, north to Fort Collins, and south to Colorado Springs and beyond. She does her best work with buyers and move-up families looking for their next home, empty
nesters starting a new chapter, sellers who need a sharp eye for home preparation and organization, and families relocating to Colorado.
One recent story stays with her: a grieving daughter who inherited a complicated, decades-old family property tangled in probate, with investors circling to make quick offers well below market value. Kathy stuck with her client through months of tedious preparation, working with multiple contractors both before the home hit the market and through numerous inspection issues that followed. The home sold quickly, appraised over asking, and the client became a forever friend. She later said she could never have gotten through it alone, that Kathy's steady, positive words carried her through some of the most stressful moments of her life, and that her high standards and refusal to give up were what set her apart.
Kathy and Marc, a VP at an engineering firm, are raising two kids who are almost grown: Maya, a junior at CU studying communications and PR, and Tyson, a high school senior and baseball player headed toward a future in sports media. Kathy has spent the last twelve years as a baseball mom, volunteering at her kids' schools and sponsoring sports programs with her business along the way. Outside of work she's on the yoga mat, on a trail, at a Rockies game, or at an outdoor concert. She has a soft spot for all animals and loves spending time with her two dogs, and she's excited to give back through philanthropy and community involvement as her kids head off to college.
