Steven Mackinney, a fifth-generation Rhode Islander, grew up in Rumford, RI, on the second hole of The Agawam Hunt golf course and attended Moses Brown School.
After graduating from Bennington College, Steven moved to Manhattan to work for Interview Magazine, where he quickly excelled in the promotion of arts and culture leading his business partner Shawn Brydges and him to create and start, The Brydges Mackinney Agency; an international group which represented and cultivated the careers of the highest caliber talent in photography, film, style and creative direction with offices in NYC and Paris. The company's numerous editorial outlets included Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, V Magazine, Architectural Digest, and, of course, Interview. They also worked on numerous advertising campaigns for companies such as Tiffany's, Gucci, DVF, Hermes, Calvin Klein, Estee Lauder, and L'Oreal. As well as celebrity clients such as Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Tom Brady, Beyonce, Charli XCX, Billie Eilish, Tiger Woods, Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, and Serena Williams.
In 2020, Steven moved back to his home state of Rhode Island and continued his passion for working closely with clients by entering the real estate industry. Over the past 6 years, Steven and his partner, Jeffrey Patrick Gold, have represented both sellers and buyers from around the world, building long-standing relationships with countless clients along the way. They have worked on many architecturally significant homes, including "King Congdon," a brutalist, modern, glass mansion located in the center of historic College Hill.
In his free time, Steven enjoys playing tennis, golf, skiing, and going to the beach. He loves spending time with his family, which includes his rescue dog, Louis. He has been a long-standing collaborator and constant volunteer at Judy's Kindness Kitchen, which happens every Sunday and prepares over 600 sandwiches, plus snacks, for the state's food-insecure.
