His father, a former carpenter and home builder, and his mother own a popular furniture source, Domestic Possessions. He spent most of his youthful years around these trades, learning the ins and outs of the construction and retail worlds. After graduating from Daniel Hand High School, he continued his studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology for interior design in New York City.
