As real estate agents, we often work with buyers who aren't quite ready to make a move the first time they go out looking at homes - and that’s completely normal. The early outings are typically about learning the market, understanding what's out there, and getting a feel for how far your budget goes.
But here’s the part that’s worth sharing:

Matt has experienced this personally - twice.
The very first home he ever looked at during his first home search ended up being the one he bought. He didn’t realize it was “the one” at the time, so he kept shopping. But after touring several more homes, he circled back to that original one, and thankfully, it was still available.
Years later, when we moved to Arizona, we came out for a quick trip a month before our official move to explore the market. We saw a few homes but didn’t make any decisions. After we moved, we resumed our search, this time ready to buy, but struggled to find the right fit.
It wasn’t until our agent asked us, “What about that home you saw last month?” that it clicked.
We had completely dismissed it, not because it wasn’t the right home, but because we weren’t ready at the time.
We went back, took another look, and ended up buying it. That became our very first home in Arizona.
So here’s our advice to buyers, especially in today’s more favorable market:
